It can even be said that there is something cosmic about those experiences. As our vision is our principal sense to perceive the world, our eyes can be interpreted as dimension-travel machines, whose pupil expansion was the inspiration for this design. The name - TARDIS - is a reference to the dimension-time-travel machine presented on the Doctor Who series.
