I-Lamp Table lamp

Joseph Koizen

Lighting Products and Fixtures Design I-Lamp Table lamp by Joseph Koizen The I-Lamp began as a piece of scrap metal. Originally found on an Austin, Texas construction site, it was repurposed into a sleek and personal lighting source. It is simultaneously a lamp, a sculpture and an objets d'art. This particular piece began as a 40' I-Beam used to support the weight of a building. This I-Lamp mimics a mid-century modern aesthetic with lines that evoke images of science fiction and the atomic age. The materials are simple, readily available, inexpensive and when repurposed, they create a beautiful light from materials once destined for the scrap heap.
